Reading is powerful, even more so than we've ever known.

In an all-new Funny or Die clip, the comedy site reimagines the open credits for the hit PBS series Reading Rainbow, which ran from 1983-2006.

While the video starts out pretty innocent, complete with rainbows and butterflies, it soon turns down right villainous.

LeVar Burton, host of the original series stars in the clip and soon learns that reading can be extremely powerful and that with that knowledge he "can do literally anything." He becomes obsessed with power, and wants to keep it all to himself, evening going to extremes and setting fire to a library so no other "man can have any power like this."

The lyrics spoof on the original song saying, "Take a look there's no more books," after Burton sets fire to them.

This video comes on the heels of Reading Rainbow getting a revival, thanks to a Kickstarter campaign. Burton recently challenged Internet users of Kickstarter to raise $1 million dollars to bring the hit series to a whole new generation of kids. Within just half a day Burton had reached the million-dollar campaign goal.

23,000 people contributed to the campaign to bring the show back in a whole new way. The creators will now use the Kickstarter money to build a web series. The money will also go to creating a classroom version of the cult classic show.

The classroom version will be available for teachers and students to access both in classrooms and at home, but will also be provide to schools in need at no charge.
