Hope Solo, Women's World Cup Goalie Arrested On Two Counts of Domestic Violence Update- Attorney Says 'Hope Is Not Guilty Of Any Crime'

Not every soccer player is having a good time during the 2014 World Cup.

Hope Solo, goalkeeper for the women's World cup team back in 2011 has been arrested following suspicions of domestic violence. After allegations that the soccer star had assaulted both her sister and her 17-year-old nephew, she was booked in SCORE misdemeanor jail in South King County, Washington and is being held without bail. She will remain in custody until Monday after making an appearance in court.

Police officers arrived at Hope's sisters house around 1 a.m. on Saturday, after getting a call that a woman at the residence was hitting people and that she was refusing to leave.

When the cops did arrive on the scene they found the soccer player clearly intoxicated and upset, and they saw injuries on both her nephew and her sister. After getting information from all parties involved they determined that Solo was the primary aggressor and they arrested her.

However, her attorney, Todd Maybrown is telling a different story. "Hope is not guilty of any crime, Maybrown reveals to the Associate Press. "In fact, our investigation reveals that Hope was assaulted and injured during this unfortunate incident. We look forward to the opportunity to present the true facts in court and to having this matter behind Hope very soon."

This is not Hope's first run in with domestic violence. In 2012, after marrying Jerramy Stevens of the Seattle Seahawks, the former football player was arrested on suspicions of assault involving Solo, but he was not charged in the case.

After those allegations, Hope released a statement saying that an assault never occurred and that her and her new husband were happy.

"It's unfortunate what the media can do to judge before the facts are out there. It's hard to see, but it's a hard truth its part of life," the goalie said. "I would never stand for domestic violence. I've never been hit in my life."

Solo was on hand for the U.S. woman's soccer game on June 14^th against France, where the she recorded her 71^st career shutout game, beating the team 1-0.
