Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, the poster boy for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, is out for the rest of the tournament due to injury. His team, the hosts, succeeded past Colombia this week, but the loss of Neymar will surely be felt.

After Colombia's Juan Camilo Zuniga kneed the Brazillian talent in the back, Neymar felt immense pain. We now know that he broke his third vertebra, sending him screaming in pain as he was airlifted to the hospital.

"It's not serious in the sense that it doesn't need surgery, but he'll need to immobilize it to recover," Brazil's team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said. "Unfortunately, he's not going to be able to play."

"We'll miss him," teammate Oscar said. "Whoever comes in in his place has to play as part of the team and beat Germany. The best thing we do is play as a team and I just hope that whoever comes in plays well."

On top of Neymar's injury, team captain Thiago Silva got a second yellow card, keeping him from the semifinals game coming up.

Despite the loss of Neymar and Silva , this semifinals match against Brazil won't exactly be easy for Germany. The South American team has a handful of star players that can easily step up in these absences.

Do you think Brazil will suffer without Neymar? Will Germany upset an entire country by knocking out the home team? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
