Sherri Shepherd has a lot to deal with considering she was just released from her hosting duties and not asked back to The View, plus she's going through a nasty divorce with husband Lamar Shelly; but one problem she's allegedly trying to move off of her plate is a surrogate baby! According to reports, Shepherd doesn't want to claim her soon-to-be delivered surrogate child with Shelly, claiming that he's using the baby to collect child support from her.

According to TMZ, this baby has no genetic link to the child since only Lamar's sperm was used in the process but not Sherri's egg(s).

"Now here's where it gets tricky," TMZ said. "We're told Sherri does not want custody or even to be considered a parent ... because she doesn't want to get stuck with massive child support payments. Sherri wants a judge to rule she has no parental rights or responsibilities -- which would shut the door to child support. She claims Lamar defrauded her -- that he got her to sign on for a surrogate birth knowing full well he would divorce her and then nail her to the wall for child support. Our Lamar sources say Sherri tried to get pregnant in vitro and when it didn't work she got deeply involved in the surrogacy process."

This definitely seems very odd but who are we to judge Shepherd for her personal decisions. Hopefully the child doesn't have to suffer in this case.
