According to new reports this week, One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson might not be the only member of the boy band to own a football team. His Doncaster Rovers purchase this year might have influenced bandmate Niall Horan to look into purchasing Salisbury City FC.

Rumors are making the rounds this week concerning Salisbury City FC and Niall Horan, claiming the boy band singer is "in talks" to become an owner of the team. Though this sounds pretty exciting, we think that it is definitely not true. The situation with Salisbury City is a bit crazy.

Apparently, a Moroccan businessman somehow took ownership of the club, hired an Argentinean coach, and then started talking to Niall. This man, Otail Touzar, has since been dealt with, and does not have any rights to the club, and might have just made up the story about Horan.

This story comes from The Derby Telegraph, which also has a laundry list of other practices that Touzar allegedly performed to get more people to come to games.

Meanwhile, Salisbury City has new owners (as of this week) in Mark Winter, David Phillips, Jackie Goddard, Jeremy Harwood and Graeme Mundy.

"The immediate objectives [are] to pay off outstanding debts and lodge an appeal to secure reinstatement into the Conference South," the club said in a statement this week. "The process to find a new manager and assemble a squad of players to compete this season has already begun. The new board would like to reassure the clubs supporters that while this has been an extremely difficult and trying time for all concerned we will be striving to pick up the pieces and take the club forward. Naturally given the mess the new owners are inheriting patience, support and unity in the community is imperative if we are to meet with success. While we cannot undo the damage done in the past few months the main priority is to move forward collectively and rebuild a club we can all be proud of."

So for any Salisbury City One Direction fans out there: it looks like this is just a weird rumor!
