Charleston River Dogs Host Disco Demolition 2: Justin Bieber & Miley Cyrus Music Destroyed At Baseball Game (VIDEO)

A minor league baseball team hosted their own version of Disco Demolition, by destroying the music of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber on the field.

The Charleston RiverDogs hosted the event billed as "Disco Demolition 2: You Better Belieb It," which was to follow Saturday night's game against the Augusta GreenJackets.

Fans that brought any Justin or Miley mercy to the game received a game ticket for only $1.

Promoters billed the event as the sequel to the first Disco Demolition, which occurred in Chicago's Comiskey Park in July 1979.

Disco Demolition came about when the promoter of the White Sox came up with an idea to fill stadium seats during a lackluster season. Attendees were encouraged to bring 98 cents and a disco record. The records would be then be destroyed in an explosion.

The night of the game 50,000 showed up. Records were being thrown like frisbees around the stadium. After the offending vinyl was blown up fans rushed the field and remained there until they were dispersed by riot police.

The promoters of Saturday's Disco Demolition said in a press release, "Like so many, we have taken special exception to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus's music along with his numerous run-ins with the law and her controversial performances. 'Disco Demolition 2' is dedicated to the eradication of their dread musical disease, like the original Disco Demolition attempted to do. We are going to take Bieber and Cyrus's merchandise and memorabilia, put it in a giant box, and blow it to smithereens. It is all in good fun, and we guarantee there won't be a forfeit of a game."

This Bieber/Cyrus demolition went off without a hitch, but we're not exactly sure it lived up to the hype.
