Who knew indie rock band The National had juicy backstage material to be adapted for a play? Funny or Die reunites Bored to Death stars Zach Galiafianakis and Ted Danson for Mistaken for Strangers: The Play.

"Mistaken for Strangers" is quite possibly the most revered track on the Brooklyn rock band's album The Boxer. The song was popular enough to become the title track of its own documentary film. The docudrama follows lead singer Matt Berninger as he invites his younger brother, Tom Berninger, to join him on tour.

In the Funny or Die video, the older Berninger reveals he never hired his sibling to make a documentary. His little bro was supposed to be the assistant tour manager. Now their documentary flick has been optioned for the theater.

In the midst of rehearsals, we see the Cheers and Hangover stars repeating their lines to one another. Due Date movie star Galifianakis admits his first love has always been the theater, especially when he starred in the off-Broadway version of Shrek. CSI lead actor Danson has trouble with his dialogue and wants to change them.

These play-actors really start to shine when they reenact the Berninger brothers' arguments. Youth in Revolt actor Galifianakis delivers different readings of "Having Matt as an older brother kinda sucks." The oldest Berninger actor teaches Danson how to be a rock star.
