Rapper/model Iggy Azalea has been tapped as new host MTV's rebooted series, House of Style. The eight episode season will premiere on August 4.

Azalea, who has the hit song of the summer with "Fancy," will be pulling double duty as fashion commentator for the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24th. (She is also nominated for seven VMA's this year.)

The new House of Style will cover everything from street trends to couture, just as the old show did. However, MTV believes the reboot will have even more impact than the original - especially with the advent of the internet and social media. While the series will air on television it will also be available on its own website and will be heavily promoted online.

Azalea, who follows in the footsteps of former hosts, Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn, Molly Sims and Naomi Campbell said yesterday, "The biggest impact that House of Style had on pop culture is its ability to make fashion fun and interesting to fans who are both diehard fashionistas or not at all. I am so excited to bring back this iconic show for another generation of teenagers."

Azalea is the first musician ever to host the iconic fashion show. She is also a model. In 2012, she signed with Wilhelmina Models International Inc.

In short, she's very much the girl of the moment.

"House of Style is a part fashion history; it's a study of the fashion present and a projection of our fashion future," said Colin Helms, SVP of Connected Content for MTV. "Keeping with the tradition of the series, we wanted this season's host to have a foot in both the fashion and music worlds. Iggy Azalea is clearly that girl."
