The dust has settled and the NBA lottery teams are adjusting to life with a new found talent. However, in a talent-loaded class, which rookie will win the Rookie of the Year award? Here are the rookies to watch. All eyes are on the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Aaron Gordon, Dante Exum, Julius Randle and Marcus Smart. Can these kids help the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and LA Lakers become great again? Will Wiggins change teams at Kevin Love and LeBron James' request?
Wiggins may be traded before he even hits the NBA, with the Cavaliers considering trading him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Love, to appease James and his new-found hopes for his Cleveland team. Parker will rival Wiggins, and perhaps being settled at the Milwaukee Bucks already, rather than enduring constant trade talk will help him.
Team like the LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics are not used to grabbing rookie talents like Smart and Randle, but they will be happy none the less. The two teams have histories like no other, and with their veterans and their new rookie, expect them to have a successful season, meaning both Smart and Randle could receive the extra attention needed to push them to winning the ROTY award, especially above low market teams like the Cavaliers and Bucks.
Who will win the ROTY award, and which rookie will have the best season? Mstars' 'Rookie Watch' will keep you up to date with all of the need-to-know information.
