Real Madrid took on their rivals Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, and their stars James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria and Gareth Bale are all in the headlines for very different reasons. A frightening foursome to say the least, right? One star scored his first goal for the club, while one is hurt, and one might just leave the club for the English Premier League or the French League. Could this be the most exciting team in soccer history? It seems Atletico had them sussed from the beginning.

New recruit Rodriguez, signed from AS Monaco, moved to Madrid after an impressive 2014 World Cup, and now he has his first goal for the club. Their forward netted in the 80th minute after coming on for Ronaldo at half-time, who had to leave due to injury. The two-legged tie finished 1-1 after the first leg, meaning both teams are in with a chance of winning the first Spanish domestic title of the season.

The Madrid derby is always a tasty affair, but adding a trophy to it only adds to the occasion. Atletico have lost some of their best players, while Ronaldo and Bale have improved, and Rodriguez has arrived, making Real a bigger threat. However, Di Maria looks set to join either Manchester United or PSG, meaning Real will be left with the other trio.

Will Ronaldo recover form his latest injury in quick fashion, and will Real miss Di Maria? At least they have three of the best forward players in the game.
