A.J. McCarron, fresh of his wedding to Katherine Webb, has given his blessing to his NCAA Alabama replacement Blake Sims, but he has bigger concerns facing him in the start of his NFL career. Firstly, he's far behind veteran Andy Dalton, and he has a shoulder injury that will keep him away from action for nearly two months. At least he's got his model wife to support him. The star has also seen some of his former college friends get bad news from the NFL roster cuts, but A.J. will live to fight another day for the Cincinnati Bengals.

After the Bengals drafted McCarron in the fifth round, Alabama knew that Sims would take his place, but McCarron was never worried. McCarron explained "I just told him I always point to my head to play smart. We always look at each other and do that and kind of remind him to play within the system. Don't try to make anything extra. You're going to do fine." Could Sims top the NCAA glory McCarron had?

McCarron, after being put on the non-football injury list, will rehab and go to meetings, but he cannot practice until week 6 at least. Could this have a harmful impact on his chances of ever topping Dalton? While McCarron is becoming Sims' mentor, it seems he will need to learn everything from Dalton, and eventually hope to replace him as the Bengals' starting QB.

Will Sims be a success for Alabama, and can McCarron have the same impact in the NFL?
