The Cleveland Cavaliers have just added NBA superstars LeBron James and Kevin Love as a supporting cast for point guard Kyrie Irving, but the star today got injured at the FIBA World Cup. Team USA are tipped to win the basketball World Cup at ease, and so far there's little to suggest otherwise. They stormed to a 95-71 win over Ukraine, but they lost Kyrie in the process, who suffered a horrific fall, which resulted in him needing help to get back to the locker room. Will the injury-prone Irving recover in time for the final, if USA get there?

USA have had little trouble as they've cruised through the group-stage, but if they're to be without Irving, could that give the other teams a better opportunity to beat them? It's easy to forget that the likes of James, Love and countless of others don't bother with international basketball, so USA are already fielding a (still superior to most) far weaker basketball team. The home of basketball desires the world title, but could this injury hurt their chances?

The question has already been posed many times: Should these NBA superstars be playing, in what some call, a 'pointless tournament'? Irving's tournament future is now in doubt, and as it's early, nobody knows if he'll be fit to return when the NBA season tip-offs in October. Irving isn't everything to his Cavaliers team, but they will sure miss him, even with James and Love to soften the blow.

Will Team USA cope without Kyire, and can they win the World Cup?
