The seventh-ranked Spartans are hoping to make an impact in one of the biggest games of the season so far. Although a victory is vital if they're to have a very successful season, it doesn't protect them if they were to slip up later in the season. Coach Dantonio explains its importance: "This is an opportunity early in the season to see where we're at as a program. Win or lose, we still have a lot of football games ahead of us, and we have to understand that that's every bit as important as this one single game."
