Nashville's leading lady, Connie Britton, is ready to try out her comedy chops in Fox's animated hit, Family Guy. Entertainment Weekly has exclusively learned that the 47-year-old actress will appear on the show in October.

Connie Britton is a total rock star in ABC's Nashville and known for her role as Mrs. Tami Taylor in the football classic, Friday Night Lights. In her upcoming Family Guy cameo, the focus won't be on her voice or her football knowledge, instead it will be all about her hair.

"She wakes up in bed to discover Peter is munching on her hair," says executive producer Steve Callaghan about the episode titled, "Baking Bad."

"Especially if you saw her in Friday Night Lights, her hair just looks so yummy, you want to take a bite of it," he added during his interview with Entertainment Weekly

If you can't wait until October to see Connie and her awesome hair, don't worry; she is reprising her role as Rayna James in the country music TV hit, Nashville starting on September 24.

In addition to Connie's voiceover, season 12 of Family Guy will feature the voices of Modern Family's Julie Bowen, Mom's Allison Janney and the Taken franchise star Liam Neeson.

"Liam Neeson will play himself in a different episode: Every time Peter gets drunk he says he can beat up the badass movie star, so the guys call him on his bluff and arrange for him to meet Neeson," Entertainment Weekly reported in July.

The biggest hype however, is still centered around the crossover episode between the Simpsons and Family Guy in its season premiere that airs on September 28. The Griffins and the Simpsons will join together in Springfield to eat donuts, make prank phone calls and even fly fighter planes.

"Generations of fans will be talking about this one," Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly said during Fox's upfront presentation in May.
