After Cee Lo Green made distasteful remarks regarding rape on his Twitter account he is now being dropped from two shows.
The former judge of NBC's The Voice was pulled from the U.S. Navy-sponsored Freedom Live Concert and the Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana.
Representatives for the Gretna Heritage Festival show that was scheduled for Oct.5 took to Facebook to explain why they replaced the singer with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, "he does not represent the festival's wholesome family environment."
Organizers for the Navy Freedom Live Concert are offering refunds for the fans that purchased tickets to see Green.
"We seek a Department-wide culture of gender dignity and respect where sexual assault is completely eliminated and never tolerated, where sexual victims receive compassionate and coordinated support, and where offenders are held appropriately accountable," the statement reads. "Regardless of intent of context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable."
The cancellations came days after the singer made controversial comments on Twitter regarding his thoughts on what constitutes the definition of rape. His comments came after he pleaded no contest to slipping a woman ecstasy without her consent in 2012.
"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously" and "people who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" The twitter comment has now been removed.
He later apologized for the comments stating that the comments were "idiotic, untrue and not what I believe."
I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.

According to prosecutors, Green slipped a 33-year-old women ecstasy during dinner on July 13, 2012. After dinner the woman reported that the singer sexually assaulted her in the hotel room at the Luxe Hotel.
The woman had told the Los Angeles Times that she woke up naked in bed with Green in her
Green attorney made a statement regarding the drug and rape charge.
"Mr. Green encouraged a full and complete investigation of those claims, and he was confident once conducted, he would be cleared of having any wrongful intent and it would be established that any relations were consensual," his attorney, Blair Berk stated. "CeeLo had faith that if the true facts were known, the district attorney would reject those charges."
