‘The Chew’ Host Daphne Oz Talks About Breastfeeding And First Baby

The Chew host, Daphne Oz, opened up about the joy of having her first child with husband John Jovanovic and revealed how much she loves her daughter. The TV host admitted that she is a huge fan of breastfeeding and the bonding effect it has.

Daphne and her husband John welcomed their first child Philomena Bijou in February and since then, the TV host has been head over heels for her daughter. "For me, it was like getting a first-hand glimpse of what love at first sight is really like," Daphne told Bravado Designs in an interview.

Her favorite thing about feeding her daughter is the bond she gets from breastfeeding. Breastfeeding gives her "peace of mind of knowing that it is the best first choice of food for your baby."

"It's a wonderful time to feel that essential and beautiful mother/baby bond and if it ends up being breastfeeding, as I was lucky enough to experience, is really is wonderful," she said about the experience.

For mothers who don't breastfeed, Daphne explained that there are many ways to bond with your baby and that any way you can feed your baby as a mother is a good way.

"My big problem is that it is something that I feel is a luxury in some ways because it does take time. I don't ever want moms to feel like if they don't get to breastfeed they're missing out on something with their babies because you will find many other ways to bond with them," she explained.

The 28-year-old star admits that having a baby isn't easy, but with her husband's support, she has had a great experience during her daughter's first six months.

"Having my husband there was so vital and remains so vital to my success and my being able to continue it because, honestly, especially in those first couple of weeks ... it's an out of body experience most of the time and he was 100 percent my emotional counselor," she said.

In addition to her work on The Chew, Daphne has now teamed up with Bravado Designs (a nursing apparel line) to donate $128,500 worth of breastfeeding supplies, according to People.
