Ryan Gosling And Russell Crowe’s Thriller ‘Nice Guys’ Finds Its Female Leads

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe's new thriller, The Nice Guys has officially landed its female leads. The Warner Bros. crime thriller will star both Ryan (who recently welcomed his first child with girlfriend Eva Mendes) and Russell, and now we know who their leading ladies are.

The Hollywood Reporter learned that Angourie Rice and The Leftovers star Margaret Qualley are now part of The Nice Guys cast. Shane Black will be directing the film and Joel Silver (who produced Lethal Weapon) will be producing.

"The script, which Black co-wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi, tells of a private detective (Gosling) and a jaded racketeer (Crowe) who must team up to find a missing actress in the scuzzy, seedy and smoggy side of 1970s Los Angeles," the publication explained.

Variety describes the plot as focusing on the, "down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired leg-breaker Jackson Healy (Crowe) [who] must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power."

Angourie, who is an Australian actress, will play Ryan's daughter. This will be a breakthrough role for the young actress as her character follows her dad during his detective work.

Margaret on the other hand will play social activist named Misty Mountains. This will be the first feature film for the actress.

The film is set to start shooting this fall in both Los Angeles and Atlanta. It's expected to hit theaters on June 17, 2016.
