Country Singer Jason Aldean Engaged To Ex-'American Idol' Contestant Brittany Kerr

With reports circling last week that Jason Aldean wanted everyone to "get over it, already!" regarding his affair with Brittany Kerr two years ago, it is not much of a shock the two are now engaged.

According to Gossip Cop, the country singer reportedly proposed to the former American Idol contestant during a private tour of the San Diego Zoo Sept. 24.

Despite this, the "Dirt Road Anthem" singer's highly publicized affair last year with cheating on his wife and baby mama Jessica Ussery, the singer continued his relationship with Kerr after things settled down. The affair went down at The Den, a Hollywood bar on Sunset Boulevard, when a patron snapped photos of Aldean and Kerr kissing.

Two years later, tabloids are still rocking the boat regarding the matter. He said last week to Billboard, "When I finally go get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I'm not trying to get in the headlines — I'm just trying to get people to stop running their mouths."

Well, this country boy has now sealed the deal.

In 2012, after the cheating scandal hit headlines, Aldean and Ussery sat down with CBS This Morning to chat about the affair.

"I think we're fine. I think anytime you go through anything like that — I mean, it's tough," the singer said. "We've been together for a long time and through a lot of things together. Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn't have the luxury of doing that."

And you do not have the luxury of kissing other women in bars if you are married — famous or not.

The then-35-year-old Aldean issued a statement saying that he "screwed up" and "acted inappropriately" after drinking too much that night.

"I would say go ask any couple that's been married for 30, 40, 50 years," added the country superstar. "I guarantee —"

"I would love to hear their story," chimed in the Georgia native's missus.

"It hasn't always been roses," Aldean confessed.
