The original Green Power Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers revealed his intension to make a cameo in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot. Jason David Frank, who played the Green Ranger, told Comicbook.com everything he knows about the new film.
"I probably will be involved. They talked to me about it," Jason told the publication. "I don't know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie."
In May, producer Haim Saban and Lionsgate studios announced the Power Rangers' reboot. The new film will be a live action movie based on the original 1993 children's icons.
"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from The Hunger Games to Twilight and Divergent," Saban told The Wrap.
"In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own."
As for the Frank's cameo appearance in the new film, things are still up in the air. What he does know is that the reboot is in the works and the studio is being very secretive when it comes to the storyline.
"They are so tight-lipped on that project, it's ridiculous. I don't even know my involvement into it," Frank admitted to Comicbook.com. "They talked to me about being involved, and the fans would love to see me involved."
"You know, we were originally talking about a Green Ranger series, but unfortunately just due to the Lionsgate movie, they don't want to overshadow anything or suppress the appetite of the fans, which is a little disappointing, but there's still possibilities of it," he added.
