Without a doubt Drew Brees is one of the best QBs in the NFL today ever, but there's also no doubting his New Orleans Saints team and their poor start to this season. It has been revealed that Brees is dropping his court case with his former teammate, Kevin Houser, that allegedly conned him out of $160k, but could this explain why Brees' mind has appeared to be elsewhere, and more importantly, now it's over with, can he and his team return to form, making them the possible Super Bowl contenders they were tipped to be?

Brees had sued his one-time friend, claiming that he had tricked him into buying a large amount of tax credits from a movie studio, that turned out to be non-existent. Houser claims that he never had a deal with Brees, and that he had simply invested the money, yet couldn't take the loss, and was trying to find a way to save face. The pair have reached a settlement, so it appears that Brees has a fresh start, and this can only benefit the Saints.

Brees is in the middle of a $100 million contract, so this ordeal was never likely to be about the money. It seems Brees was just angry at being tricked, and wanted to save face, one way or another. The Saints were tipped to win the Super Bowl, but they've started in a woeful manner, making many people already eat their words after three games.

Can Brees refocus and find the form he has had throughout his career? He has everything in order, and now it's time for him to let his football do the talking.
