Reese Witherspoon is a very successful actress known for her roles in Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama. Despite her own success, when it comes to dealing with women in Hollywood, she looks to fellow actress and comedian Tina Fey.

The 38-year-old actress explained in an interview with Fox News Sunday (that is set to air this weekend) that after reading Tina Fey's memoir Bossypants (which came out in 2011) she was inspired to help others with their careers, E! Online reported.

"One of the biggest inspirations for me was reading Tina Fey's book. It was a very — she said, you know, 'If I can help one other woman create something in Hollywood, I've done my job,'" Reese said.

The SNL alum's memoir discusses that women in comedy are seen as "crazy" and what it is actually like to be a woman in the entertainment industry. "She writes that to her, the fastest remedy for this is for more women to become producers and hire diverse women of various ages, which is why she feels obligated to stay in the business and try hard to get to a place where I can create opportunities for others," E! Online said.

In hopes of helping others start their career in the dog-eat-dog entertainment industry, Reese is looking to follow Tina's wise words. "And I hope to have that same goal, you know, just to create opportunities for other women to tell their stories, because women aren't just girlfriends and wives, you know, in movies, to big leading men," Reese explained during her Fox News Sunday interview.

"Those are great roles, but I feel like women are much more complex than that. And I'm excited to be able to help them get their stories to the screen," she added.

The mother of three is currently promoting her upcoming film Wild, based on a true story about a woman in the wilderness finding herself while making a solo trek through the Pacific Crest Trail. This new film is a role that Reese cannot wait to show people, especially her family.

"And Wild — I've never seen a woman on film outside in the wilderness all alone. And it's a true story. But it's something I'm really proud of and I'm excited to show my daughter," Reese said.
