It is clear now more than ever that London, and the United Kingdom as a whole, loves, wants and needs the NFL.

They are addicted. A sell-out crowd watched the Miami Dolphins thrash the Oakland Raiders last night, and they are pushing for their own team, as are the National Football League, with London ticking every box to make itself a financially attractive team for the NFL.

The NFL is considering new expansion teams, or even relocating the miserable Raiders or the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars. Will London; San Antonio, Texas; or Los Angeles get their own team, and does London deserve to be in the mix?

London is desperate for it, and it looks like it will get its way. There are rumours that the Jags may be the team to be sacrificed, with Oakland being an option, too, especially after their horrific showing in yesterday's game. Mark Waller is doing his best to make it happen. The head of international expansion is British, and he is trying to bring London its own team.

He explained, "To permanently relocate an NFL team to the U.K. is massive. It's not like putting a team in a U.S. city. There are a whole set of logistical implications for the players, coaches, back-office staff and so on. We play at Wembley, England, so it's important for both of us that the surface holds up. So we need to test playing games over consecutive weekends, followed by an England game. And, at the moment, we give any team that comes over here the following weekend off.

"That is not going to be practical in the future, so we will have to look at a team playing here one week, and then back in the U.S. a week later. So there is a lot still to be done, because any team we put here has to be competitive. It's not just about putting a team in the marketplace, that team has to be able to win the Super Bowl."

Even Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is for it, saying it is "going to get done."

But should another U.S. city get a team before London?
