Sabrina Allen, Gregory Allen: Daughter Found After Missing For 12 Years, Father Awaits Reunion [VIDEOS]

A happy story unfolded this past Wednesday, Oct. 1, as a father, Gregory Allen, received news that his daughter, who has been missing for 12 years, had been found alive near Mexico City with her mother.

Investigators said Wednesday that Dara Llorens, the mother, was quickly flown back to Texas where she was jailed on kidnapping charges. She is now being held on a $300,000 bond. U.S. and Mexican authorities said that Llorens initially put up some resistance when Mexican officers arrested her.

Sabrina Allen, now 17, was found Tuesday night in Papalotla, Tlaxcala. The now teenager was reported missing at age four by her father after she vanished in 2002 during a weekend visit with her mother.

"She's in pretty bad shape as far as my understanding," Allen said at a news conference in Austin, Texas Wednesday. "She was not living a regular life. She has not been going to school."

Though Allen has yet to see her daughter, he knows exactly the first thing he will be asking her, "I'm going to ask her if I can give her a hug."

The mother and daughter were reportedly living in an apartment, however, authorities have yet to release further information about how long she had been in Mexico and their living conditions.

Six months after the girl had gone missing a friend of the mothers told the FBI that she had dropped Llorens and her daughter off at the International Bridge in Laredo. She believed they were in Mexico.

Though Allen knew that his daughter was with his mother, she was still missing. She was not returned to her father after a weekend away with her mother. Since then Allen has remarried and had other children, yet he never gave up the fight to find his daughter.

Allen began a website dedicated in finding his daughter: FindSabrina.org. He had hired a private investigator as well as campaigned with the public to get answers.
