Tonight's episode marks Week 4 of Dancing with the Stars. This week's theme was "The Most Memorable Years of My Life," and the dances were memorable indeed.

In an interesting turn of events, this week, in addition to the scores from the three judges, America could vote live and give each team a score that would be added into their final score for the night.

To kick off the night, last week's results were read. Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy as well as Jonathan Bennett and Allison Holker were safe. Betsey Johnson and Tony Dovolani were in jeopardy of going home.

After the first round of results was announced, Janel and Val took the stage. Janel took us back to 2002 as her most memorable year because it was the year she left Hawaii and moved to Los Angeles to try and be an actress. The same year her mentor died, so she dedicated the rumba dance to her. The routine itself was romantic, gorgeous and technically accurate. The romantic duo received 36 points.

One of the greatest themes of the night happened next. Jonathan and Allison took the stage in full Christmas attire. Jonathan chose to pay homage to Mean Girls, which was his big break in Hollywood. After re-enacting the talent show in Mean Girls, skipping boom box and all, the duo stripped down to pink outfits and danced to "Milkshake," because what's more Mean Girls than that? Although the theme was amazing, the dance wasn't that great. They got 24 points.

Up next, Betsey and Tony. Betsey chose 1975, the year her daughter Lulu was born, as her inspiration. The jive routine was fun but not upbeat enough. She did, however, do a couple amazing poses that showed off her flexibility, which was great. She got 29 points out of a possible 40.

The next results revealed that Bethany Mota and Derek Hough, Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cheryl Burke and Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev were all safe. Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater, on the other hand, were in jeopardy.

When Bethany and Derek took the stage, the young star picked 2009 as her best year because it was the year she started her YouTube channel as a way to get away from all the bullying she was facing at school.

Their rumba routine was powerful and inspirational. There wasn't enough of the actual rumba, which the judges did not like, but they all loved her message. The couple earned 33 points.

The next couple was Michael and Emma. Michael's a former racecar driver, so he picked his 2001 Daytona 500 win. The same day his close friend and another famous racer, Dale Earnhardt, died on the track. He used his performance to honor the best and worst day of his life. The routine wasn't good, as usual, but the judges loved his personality.

They only scored 25 points.

Lea and Artem took the stage next and they were perfect. Lea picked her dad's last year on earth as her memorable year because he taught her how to live as he died. The story was beyond touching, saying that Lea and her family celebrated every holiday together in one week before her father died and she danced one last time with her father, who she honored with her routine.

The contemporary routine was elegant and flawless. This duo's perfect. They earned 39 out of 40 points, making Lea one of the frontrunners in this competition.

Antonio and Cheryl followed Lea's routine with a samba. Antonio picked 1985 as his year because that was when he landed his first acting gig as the lead model/dancer in a Janet Jackson music video. He then took the stage and danced to the same song ... shirtless.

Even though he looked confident, it wasn't his best, earning only 29 points.

In the final results segment, Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson as well as Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas were told they were safe. Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd were, unfortunately, in jeopardy.

When Tommy and Peta took the stage, it was lighthearted and fun. Tommy chose 2003, the year he went to jail for transporting drugs across state lines as his memorable moment. It taught him you have to live each moment and that freedom is something everyone should have.

Tommy and Peta danced to "Jailhouse Rock," which was entertaining. He did, however, mess up at times, which resulted in only 28 points.

Sadie and Mark took the stage next and honored her family and faith. She decided to pick 2012 because that was the year Duck Dynasty began. She even honored her family and their business by dressing in duck gear.

Mark was the duck hunter, while Sadie was the duck. Their dance was fun, well-choreographed and pretty flawless. Sadie showed off her spunky personality and the Duck Dynasty men even blew their duck whistles. They earned 37 points.

Last but not least, Alfonso and Witney took the stage. Alfonso channeled his inner Carlton Banks and paid tribute to his time spent on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. In a fun turn of events, Alfonso taught Witney his iconic dance "The Carlton," so it could be used in the routine.

They began the performance on a couch in a house that looked exactly like the Fresh Prince mansion and then quickly jumped into the jazz dance. It was the best routine of the night — possibly the whole season. Within the routine, they did "The Carlton" and it was spectacular. They killed it and got a perfect score of 40.

In the final moments, Tommy and Peta as well as Michael and Emma were saved and Betsey and Tony were sent home. She was grateful and couldn't stop thanking Tony for everything he did for her.
