The New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals knew the importance of their Sunday Night Football NFL game, yet the Pats are the only team that proved it. The talk surrounding both teams lately has been around quarterbacks Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo of the Pats, and Andy Dalton and A.J. McCarron of the Bengals. Brady has done it all, but appears to be near retirement, while Dalton rarely performs when it matters. Both teams have talented rookies waiting for their chance, but is it time to give them their shot? On top of that, there are rumours that each duo dislikes one another, making it near impossible to work with one another.

The Bengals were 3-0, hoping to stomp all over the struggling Pats, but they suffered a huge setback, losing 43-17 on live television. Brady proved he is still the man, for now anyway, while Dalton disappeared, showing that yet again, like the playoffs, he can't perform against the best teams, and he can't perform when it truly matters.

Both teams are heavily invested (financially) in their veteran duo, yet it's evident they're looking to the future, hence their draft selection of young QB. The rookies were two of the hottest NCAA play makers around, but are thy ready for the NFL this season, or next, or not at all? The logical explanation would be for the youngsters to learn off of their veteran leaders, but with them ageing, and the ongoing feuds, should the Pats and Bengals cut the cords and put their faith in their rookies?

Brady and Dalton may be two of the best around, but for various reasons, they may turn to Garoppolo and McCarron a lot sooner than many expected.
