'Chicago Fire' Season 3, Episode 3 Recap: "When Two Trucks Collide"

On this episode of Chicago Fire, "Just Drive the Truck," the firehouse is out on a call quickly, sooner than viewers would expect. The action ensues swiftly in the episode, with drama following as Firehouse 51 and the Austin firehouse crashing –– instant blame is taking place on the two firehouses.

Mouch is covered in blood and viewers now know that they are in a sticky situation with one truck and fireman down for the count. As panic does succeed, the firehouse comes out strong. Mouch, now rocking an awesome eye patch, however with a corneal abrasion injury.

Cruz in now under scrutiny as the firehouse and police question his driving. Was he under the influence? He has to answer some pretty touchy questions and could ultimately be charged with manslaughter as the driver of the other truck, Molina, left the scene unconscious. This tears Cruz up inside. However, Molina wakes up and he admits that Welch told him to try and beat Truck 81, ultimately ending in the crash. So the blame is off Cruz!

Poor guy.

On last weeks episode we watched Severide (Taylor Kinney) struggle a lot more with the loss of Shay. Drinking became a part of his regimen. With this he can't even go to the hospital to check on Molina, he does not want to have to attend another firehouse funeral. He then goes AWOL again for 48 hours, getting into a chase with a psychopath on a subway train.

Casey has news for Dawson, Chief Boden wants to make Dawson their candidate for their truck, however, if she joins they can't get married.

Mills is struggling again with accidents on the job as he falls off the roof of the truck. A doctor diagnosis him with BPPV, a form of vertigo. This leaves Mills in distress, how will he fulfill all his firehouse dreams?

This leaves Mills seeking more about his family. He finds his grandfather who is in a hospital battling stage four cancer. This eventually leads Mills to think deeply in why he chose to became a firefighter.

Trudy Platt (from Chicago PD) is the perfect girlfriend for Mouch, truly a breath of fresh air for the firehouse.
