It's been around two years since the comedic couple Amy Poehler and Will Arnett shockingly got a divorce. Now, Poehler is finally opening up about her divorce that was "too sad and "too personal" to discuss before. The Parks and Recreation actress opened up in her new book Yes Please.

"The process of divorce is about loading that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands," she revealed in her book, which will be available Oct. 28, as E! News reports. "Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air."

The then couple married on August 29, 2003. During the beginning of their marriage the couple was not shy about acting together as they were in such episodes like Arnett's Arrested Development together. They also played a quasi-incestuous brother-sister team in the 2007 Will Ferrell film Blades of Glory.

"When you are a person going through a divorce you feel incredibly alone, yet you are constantly reminded by society of how frequently divorce happens and how common it has become," the expert reads. "You aren't allowed to feel special, but no one knows the specific ways you are in pain."

On October 25, 2008, Poehler gave birth to their first child, Archibald William "Archie" Emerson Arnett. The then couple had gave birth to their second son, Abel James Arnett, on August 6, 2010.

Despite their divorce, Arnett and Poehler have never let their separation get in the way of parenting their children. "I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children. I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don't think a 10-year marriage constitutes failure."

CBS's The Millers star, filed for divorce on April 8 in Los Angeles Superior Court requesting joint legal custody and physical custody of their two children, along with visitation rights.
