Neighbors actor Seth Rogen has always been vocal about his personal opinion, so when he ran into the man who canceled his 1999 cult classic TV show Freaks and Geeks, he didn't hold back.

Freaks and Geeks was a one-season show about high school students in Michigan trying to get through their high school years. There were the "freaks" made up of Seth as Ken Miller, James Franco as Daniel Desario, Jason Segal as Nick Andopolis, Busy Philipps as Kim Kelly and Linda Cardellini as Lindsay Weir. The "geeks" were played by Samm Levine as Neal Schweiber, Martin Starr as Bill Haverchuck and John Francis Daley as Sam Weir. With only one season, the Judd Apatow-produced show had a cult following that still can't get over the fact that it ended so quickly.

"Last night I was in my room with the dude who cancelled Freaks and Geeks. And yes, I did totally call him out on it," Seth tweeted Sunday, Oct. 12.

So what did the 32-year-old actor say to the man who killed the dreams of a second season of Freaks and Geeks? In an interview with Huffington Post Live Monday, Oct. 13, Seth explained the whole interaction while discussing his and his wife Lauren Miller's event Hilarity for Charity.

"I was at Saturday Night Live, just backstage because Bill Hader is hilarious and I wanted to go watch it with my wife. I overheard someone say the name of the guy who cancelled Freaks and Geeks. I know his name obviously because we've talked about how stupid he is for the last 15 years," Seth explained to HuffPost Live.

"As soon as I heard it, I was like, 'Oh, my god, man, it's you!' Paul Rudd was there — I was like, 'This is the guy who cancelled Freaks and Geeks!' And he was like, 'You're the guy! Wow, that's crazy. What's that feel like?'"

After getting cancelled after only 18 episodes, Freaks and Geeks still lives on in both the hearts of the fans and the cast who made it iconic. Seth continued to tell the story about how he called the man out on ruining such a great show.

"He oddly tried to justify it. He was like, 'You know, Judd [Apatow] wouldn't listen to my notes.' I was like, 'The notes probably were stupid.' He oddly dug in and kinda tried to justify it ... an odd choice," the This Is the End actor revealed to HuffPost.

"He was like, 'You know, I kept telling Judd, 'Give them a victory, give them a victory!' I was like, 'The whole show was about how in high school, you always lose all the time.' That's it. He went to a private school and was very rich as a child," Seth added.

Seth wasn't the only person upset about the show's cancellation. In fact, the cancellation prompted Rob Thomas to create another cult show: Veronica Mars.

"When I wrote the Veronica Mars pilot, it was sort of a response to the cancellation to Freaks and Geeks. I felt if that show can't make it, then no show doing small stories, slice of life ... these stories where the characters grow by inches without sort of a big hook line, like a big logline that will pull you into the show. If that can't make it, I better do something else," Rob told E! News
