Brandy, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Yo-Yo Take Us Back! Ladies Perform 'I Wanna Be Down Remix' And More On 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards Stage

The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards was a night to remember as rapper Common gave a beautiful tribute to the African-American teen gunned down by a police officer in St. Louis, (Ferguson, Mo.) Michael Brown, to Doug E. Fresh being honored with the I Am Hip Hop Award.  But one performance of Tuesday night's award show was the girl power brought onstage that reunited Brandy, Yo-Yo, MC Lyte and Queen Latifah in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the "I Wanna Be Down" remix.

The four music artist previously joined forces again on The Queen Latifah Show in April to talk about how the popular song was produced:

During the interview at that time, the host, Queen Latifah, chatted with Brandy, saying, "It has been almost 20 years since the remix of "I Wanna Be Down," as Brandy replied, "I know, what!"

Latifah asked, "How much fun was that?" Explaining to the audience, "It was me, it was you, obviously your record, with myself, MC Lyte and Yo-Yo ..." as Latifah decided to show a clip to the ones who were either too small to remember or just needed a reminder of the hit music video.

Brandy, who was a kid at the time, said she was having a "groupie moment." Brandy admitted it was the first time she had met the three other ladies.
