MMA Fighter War Machine Attempts Suicide In Las Vegas Jail: Details Here

MMA Fighter Jonathan "War Machine" Koppenhaver attempted suicide in his Las Vegas jail cell Tuesday, Oct 14.

TMZ reported first that the 32-year-old fighter was found unresponsive when an officer checked on him in his Clark County Jail cell. Koppenhaver was found sitting on the ground with a torn piece of linen around his neck, which was attached to his bunk.

The mixed martial arts fighter was accused of beating his adult film star girlfriend, Christy Mack, and a male friend, Corey Thomas, on August 8.

After going on the run in response to the allegations, police arrested him in his hometown of Simi Valley where he is now being held at the Clark Country Detention Center.

"I'm not a bad guy, I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life," Koppenhaver tweeted on Aug. 10. "I only wish that man hadn't been there and that Christy & I would be happily engaged," he continued. "I don't know y I'm so cursed. One day truth will come out."
Koppenhaver pleaded not guilty to 32 criminal charges last month for alleged battery, strangulation, kidnapping, and sexual assault.

According to CNN affiliate KSNV the MMA fighter left behind a suicide note next to where he attempted suicide. Officer Jose Hernandez told KSNV that Koppenhaver was unresponsive and struggling to breath. This was the same day he was to appear in court to discuss his plea deal.

Mack has been taking to her twitter in the past months, revealing her multiple trips to the dentist to fix her fractured teeth.
