While we know that legendary filmmaker James Cameron has been open about his involvement - or lack there of - in 2015's Terminator: Genisys (also known as Terminator 5), the director of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day still gets asked plenty of questions about it. In a recent talk with Deadline, the Avatar filmmaker shared some information about how, while he really had no interest in having too much influence over the Colin Trevorrow-directed movie, he did manage to talk up Arnold Schwarzenegger to producers, thus securing a role for the iconic actor in the next chapter of the franchise.

"I wasn't interested in producing it or working on it actively, but I did want to put in a good word for Arnold," he told Deadline during a screening of The Terminator. " I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered."

So there you have it - while Cameron swears he didn't want to influence the movie too much by serving as a producer or something like that, he helped develop a main part of the plot.

Though he isn't too involved with the fifth Terminator film, he's still pretty excited about it.

"I'm hoping it's great," he told Empire. "I'd like them to get it right, and based on the script that I read there's a pretty good chance that it could. It looks like it could be fun."
