It's nothing new for celebrities to undergo the knife in Hollywood, but stepping out on a red carpet and seemingly looking altered is a trigger for raging media headlines. This has been the case for Renee Zellweger, who attended the Elle Women in Hollywood event Monday, Oct. 20, looking seemingly different. She has since spoken out about her new look.

As MStars reported, the Bridget Jones' Diary star looked a bit dissimilar in the facial area. Regarding this buzz, the actress has finally broken her silence.

"I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows," the 45-year-old actress told People.

Her statement doesn't necessarily answer the question as to whether the star has gotten any nips and tucks, but she blames the new "improved" look on health and newfound peace.

"My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy," Renee added. "For a long time I wasn't doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn't allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things."

As CNN reported, the actress has spent less time in the spotlight and made rare appearances until last night's Elle event. Her last film credit was in 2010.

Media outlets such as moviepilot.com are writing, "The Academy Award-nominated actress is virtually unrecognizable."
