Law & Order: SVU is known for taking storylines from news headlines to inspire its episodes and that is why we still love it 16 seasons later. Now, the hit crime show will be tackling NFL domestic violence with guest stars Chad Coleman and Meagan Good.

The Walking Dead actor, Chad, and Think Like a Man actress, Meagan, will be in an upcoming November episode, TV Guide reported. The episode will be titled, "Spousal Privilege" and will revolve around spousal abuse.

"In the episode, Coleman will play a former sports star-turned-reporter who is accused of assaulting his girlfriend (Good). Despite photographic evidence of the abuse, the case becomes complicated for the SVU when the couple tries to keep the charges hidden," TV Guide reported.

The episode synopsis is very similar to the widely publicized case of now-former Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice punching his then-fiancée Janay Palmer in Atlantic City. The NFL has been under fire since the incident and since the discovery of a video that showed the crime taking place that TMZ released.

As for SVU's take on the issue of domestic violence, the network revealed that it is a much-needed story to tell. "Domestic violence, with a push from Mariska Hargitay's NO MORE campaign (www.nomore.org), has recently sparked a long-needed national dialogue," SVU's showrunner Warren Leight said in a statement.

"'Spousal Privilege' explores the personal and legal complexities of this intractable problem. We are thrilled that Chad and Meagan are joining us to take on this challenge episode."

The NO MORE PSA campaign addresses the silence and lack of action when it comes to sexual assault and domestic violence. It is spearheaded by the Joyful Heart Foundation and backed by a lot of celebrities including, Mariska Hargitay, Debra Messing, Christopher Meloni, Amy Poehler and more.

"Spousal Privilege" will air Nov. 19 as a part of Law & Order: SVU's 16th season on NBC.
