Harry Potter forever! Daniel Radcliffe defends his longtime friend and co-star Emma Watson when asked about being a sex symbol in a recent interview.

While promoting his latest film Horns, Daniel was caught off guard when asked about his sex symbol status, but his reaction was perfect. According to Associated Press, the reporter asked, "You're kind of becoming a bit of a sex symbol, which to some of your fans is kind of weird, because we've seen you growing up on screen, and now here you are. How do you feel about it?"

"If anyone sees me that way, I'm delighted. That's awesome," Daniel responded. "Around the time of What If, the rom-com coming out, a lot of people were saying, 'You're really an unconventional romantic lead,'" he recalled.

Daniel continued saying, "Eventually I got bored of hearing that and I kind of picked someone up on it. I was like, 'What about me is unconventional, exactly? Like, tell me.' She said, 'Well, I think it's probably the fact that we associate you with playing Harry, the young boy, for so long."

What the 25-year-old responded to the odd reasoning, was extremely insightful and awesome. "My immediate response was, "Well, the male population has had no problem sexualizing Emma Watson immediately," Daniel told the Associated Press.

Emma Watson recently joined the United Nations as one of its Goodwill Ambassadors and she gave a moving speech about gender equality, noting that her Harry Potter past is just a part of who she is.

"You might think, 'Who is this Harry Potter girl? What is she doing at the U.N.?' And it's a really good question, I've been asking myself the same thing," Emma said in her U.N. speech in September. "All I know is that I care about this problem and I want to make it better."

The Kill Your Darlings actor further defended his time on Harry Potter during his AP interview saying, "People seem to think that everything I'm doing is a comment on Harry Potter, which it's not. The thing I do find frustrating sometimes is that some people seem to think that by wanting to do other things, it somehow means that I'm not proud of Harry Potter, which is ludicrous."
