A.J. McCarron is a long way away from dominating the NFL, but some are now starting to raise the question, does he even have what it takes to adapt, and stick around the league for years to come? The newly married QB, and Katherine Webb, are forever in the headlines, yet it's been a long time since he's done anything with a football in his hand. The latest controversy surrounding the Alabama legend, is to do with his feud with former coach Nick Saban, who he slated, and then quickly retracted the negative comments. Will he grow up, learning from Andy Dalton, and will his evident talent shine through?

Sports writer Caleb Calhoun evidently thinks he's doomed, attacking him for his recent antics.

"AJ McCarron is a joke," the journalist said. "He is an average quarterback with very questionable character. His narcissism consistently gets the best of him, and it showed again this week."

He continued: "Many of you are familiar by now that McCarron earlier this week said this year's Alabama team lacks 'true leaders,' referring to their loss to Ole Miss. He also talked about Saban sometimes hamstringing his offensive coordinators. How dare he criticize the coach and football team that made him! How dare he bring up leadership issues in the Alabama locker room! McCarron was made out to be a winner because he was blessed with the greatest offensive line, an amazing coaching staff, and the deepest amount of talent ever on a football team. And he still managed to blow a shot at the national championship last year. What a joke!'

A.J. however, tried to defuse the Saban feud, saying: "It's what comes with the position of playing QB at the University of Alabama. For the rest of your life, however long your career lasts in football and then after football, people are going to want to hear what you have to say about the university - and sometimes that's going to be taken out of context and blown up... that's the bad side of media. I mis-worded (my comments) last night and I'll admit that. What I meant, and I gave an example right after I said that, was a vocal leader. So that's what I should have said, vocal leader. I mentioned last night that they have plenty of leaders on this team.... I really don't see what all the fuss was. People are on the Internet, on Twitter talking about me 'bashing the team.' I, never once, have I ever bashed our team."

Will the media back off, and will A.J. learn to do his talking on the football field, or is his NFL career destined to be riddled with trouble and failure?
