PETA has released a full-page ad in The Hollywood Reporter after One Direction's music video for "Steal My Girl" was dropped back on Oct. 24. PETA believes that the British boy band's use of animals in the video was with negligence.

In a press release sent out by PETA, the animal rights organization states that they will run the full-page ad in THR's Nov. 5 issue. The ad reads, "No Animals Were Harmed? Really, One Direction?"

Along with the headline is a stark black and white photograph of a chimpanzee huddled in the corner visibly shaken.

"PETA's ad reminds Hollywood what it won't see on set-that baby apes are torn away from their mothers at birth, abused during training, and then discarded at decrepit facilities," says PETA Foundation Deputy General Counsel Delcianna Winders. "It's up to producers, directors, and performers to protect wild animals by refusing to work with them, period."

As MStars News reports, the video was filmed in the desert and showcases many animals such as lions and monkeys. After the initial open letter addressed to band mates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, the production company, Fulwell 73, told E! News that the animals were treated properly.

"We have the upmost respect for organizations such as PETA and Wild Futures, who we support greatly for their passion and incredible dedication," Fulwell 73 said in a statement."We vetted Steve Martin closely and chose him based on his exemplary treatment of animals, his highly-regarded 'reward based' training, and his history in contributing to animal conservation educational programs."

The press release further states that they asked One Direction to cut the scenes featuring exotic animals thus explaining that Steve Martin, the exhibitor hired for "Steal My Girl," violates the Federal Animal Welfare Act.
