The Chew star Daphne Oz covers the November/December 2014 issue of Fitness magazine and chats post-pregnancy and her secret workout tips.

The daughter of famous TV Dr. Mehmet Oz gave birth to her first child Philomena, 7 months,  in February. She tells the magazine she wants mothers to stop feeling sorry for themselves about losing the much-dreaded baby weight.

"There's a big gap between what people hear and how it actually is," she said.

Oz, married to college sweetheart John Jovanovic, an investment fund analyst, says, "Everyone needs to choose what works for them, and it's not fair to you to compare your progress to others'. We have to reinforce that shedding pounds is a long, hard process."

Oz is the author of the New York Times bestseller Relish: An Adventure in Food, Style, and Everyday Fun, so the talk show host has a few tricks up her sleeve!

"Focus on the things that you love about your body. Feel good about them and you'll project confidence," the 28-year-old blonde beauty said to the magazine. "I run about 4 miles three to four times a week, and I intersperse that with half-hour online workouts. I love the Ballet Beautiful videos — they're intense and strenuous but not hard on your joints."

Like all mothers, finding the time and strength to get up and work out can be a struggle, especially the 10 minuets between waking up and showering is when one can slip the most.

"I put on my workout clothes, and I don't let myself think about it. Once I'm out for a run or doing a video, I'm on my way to finishing it," she said.
