In a new interview on Today airing Monday, Nov. 3, and Tuesday, Nov. 4, Jennifer Lopez tells Maria Shriver that she doesn't by the "fairy-tale" romance, how she jumps quickly —negatively — into relationships and how her kids save her from all of it.

The 45-year-old "Booty" singer states that, "I feel like, when we're kids, you're sold into this fairy-tale idea of what love is."

Lopez has been romantically involved with celebrities like Ben Affleck and Sean "Diddy Combs, but even dating some of the most sought men in the world doesn't mean any of them are Prince Charming.

"[He's] gonna rescue me from the Bronx, and we're gonna go off and live in a castle somewhere and it's gonna be awesome," the Maid in Manhattan actress said of her past dreams of relationships. "He's gonna love me forever, and I'm gonna love him forever, and it's gonna be real easy. And it's so different than that."

As MStars News previously reported, Lopez revealed to Shriver that her former 2004 fiance, Affleck, was her first heartbreak, and right after the breakup she had a tendency to rush into the next relationship — hence her marriage to longtime friend Marc Anthony. The couple welcomed their twins Max and Emme, now 6, the same year her engagement to Affeck was broken off.

"The first person who shows up and gives me a little comfort and we have a little chemistry, boom, we're in!" she revealed.

On what she wants for her kids? "I want both of them to be independent, good on their own first."

But her twins are what keep her running.

"They save me," Lopez said. "Their love and loving them and them coming into my life really made me re-evaluate what I was doing with my life, and the relationship and the choices I was making in relationships sometimes."
