TLC's show 19 Kids and Counting star Jim Bob Duggar is being accused of trying to manipulate the reality show's storyline and editing behind-the-scenes, most recently at daughter Jessa Duggar's wedding to Ben Seewald.
According to the Christian blog My Life as a Stay at Home Wife and Mom, the guests weren't the only ones shocked when the couple didn't kiss at the altar — the bride's parents were as well.
"The minister said that the bride and groom were about to have their first kiss as man and wife ... but they went into a room by themselves! He said they wished to share their first kiss privately," blog writer Ashleigh posted. "Every head turned towards the Duggar parents who looked absolutely stunned by this display. Michelle [Duggar] was shaking her head."
As MStars News reported, once Pastor Mike Schadt announced there wouldn't be a first kiss because the newly married couple wanted to make it private, Jessa's parents kissed in their place.
"So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss," he said, according to People.
But Ashleigh wrote that Jim Bob took matters into his own hands and made sure the TLC producers wouldn't make him and his wife look oblivious on camera.
"Afterwards, I heard Jim Bob and someone from TLC talking about altering the storyline to make it look like Jim Bob and Michelle were in on it the whole time," she continued in her post. "It was a surprise to most of us that the children wished to be alone ... However, it seemed to be most of all a shock to the bride's parents."
