Anne Hathaway Reveals Meryl Streep Was The 'Ice Queen' While Filming 'The Devil Wears Prada' And Explains Her Most Embarrassing Moments Ever

Interstellar actress Anne Hathaway has been in the business for many years and she has worked with some of the greatest actors and actresses of all time. But what are they really like on set? The 31-year-old actress recently revealed that Meryl Streep was a total ice queen, like her character on the film The Devil Wears Prada that they starred together in 2006.

"When I met her she gave me a hug. And I'm like, 'Oh my god, we are going to have the best time on this movie,'" Anne told Graham Norton on his show The Graham Norton Show last week "And then she's like, 'Ah sweetie, that's the last time I'm nice to you.'"

"She then went into her trailer and came out the ice queen and that was really the last I saw of 'Meryl' for months, until we promoted the film." Anne went on to clarify that she is actually "the most amazing, warm person," but her "Ice Queen" persona was a way to stay in character, which she definitely nailed in the film.

While promoting her latest film, Hathaway also revealed that she has some seriously embarrassing stories from her past. In fact, The Princess Diaries actress explained that her most recent embarrassing story, when the teleprompter broke during her speech for costar Matthew McConaughey's American Cinematheque Award, it was easily one of her less embarrassing moments.

"It was embarrassing, but the thing about me and embarrassment is you have to remember is that it all happens on a scale," the Oscar winner told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"So if you think about embarrassment [on a] scale of one to 10. One is just being a person walking down the street, and 10 is, for me, co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco, which is only tied with being honored to accept an Oscar whilst wearing a dress that I knew made it look like my nipples were erect. So if that's a 10, [the McConaughey thing] was a four."

Anne also revealed that she showed up to Matthew's house once for a party on the wrong day earing an eight on her embarrassing scale. "He invited us in, got us drunk, and we had a great time. And then I crashed a surprise party with him," she told Jimmy.
