If you're impatiently waiting for Black Friday, your wait is going to be cut a little shorter this year. Online retailers are expected to offer the deepest discounts on Thanksgiving Day, lower than any other day during the holiday season, according to Adobe, which released its annual shopping forecast today. We predict this will cause a major distraction at Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Discounts will begin the Monday before Thanksgiving, and drop again Thanksgiving Day. Prices will go back up the Tuesday after Cyber Monday. If you'd rather head to stores to shop, in-store prices will match online prices for the most part, and you might get a special discount exclusive to stores, especially on Black Friday and during inventory clearance periods closer to the holidays. Just to be on the safe side, try using a price comparison app like ShopSavvy to make sure you're getting the best deal.

Fashionista reports, online retailers are expecting a record holiday season, with holiday sales forecast to jump 10 percent over last year, far outpacing the national average. Black Friday sales are expected to hit a record $2.48 billion, up 28 percent from last year. Online retailers are also expecting record sales of $1.35 billion that day, up 27 percent. But for e-commerce, Cyber Monday is still the king of sales days: Shoppers are expected to spend $2.6 billion online that day, up 15 percent from the year before.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to practice safe shopping, as Black Friday is notorious for causing riots and chaos. Check out the video below for actual footage of shoppers on Black Fridays of previous years.
