Victoria Gotti has been in the public's conscience ever since she was born to the famed mob crime family. 10 years ago, she and her three boys, Carmine, Frank, and John, starred in a reality show about their lives called Growing Up Gotti.

Since this year marks the 10th anniversary of the show, Victoria let the cameras back in her home to document the major changes in her and her children's lives. In part one of MStars News's exclusive interview with the former Celebrity Apprentice contestant, we talk about the new A&E special, Growing Up Gotti: 10 Years Later, as well as what's been going on with her kids today.

MStars News: My first question is about your Growing Up Gotti special. Can you just tell us about it, what can we expect from it?

Victoria: I think the most important thing that people can expect from it, or will see, I think it's an incredible growth, with the boys, after we did the show, by choice, everyone just steered clear of anything in that industry, not for any reason. They went in their direction; it's real life time. They opened a business together, they were so busy for years building it, and they're not the kind of kids who enjoy going out clubbing or running the streets of New York City, hence it was nice for them to be private, and be back, and just do their thing. So I think the most startling thing is going to be seeing the boys after all these years, and hearing them. Seeing how much they've grown, changed, and really all their thoughts having done the show for all those years... You hear their opinions, their reflections, some of it even surprised me and I'm their mom. But sitting in that room over and over, and just doing this new special with them, a lot of what I heard, really surprised me.

MStars News: What kind of things surprised you?

Victoria: Their thoughts mostly. I'll give you one little tidbit. Their thoughts on fighting, the fighting in the old days, and to me as a parent, especially a single parent, you raise three boys, even a mixed bag of siblings, boys and girls, two girls, there's always fighting, there's always arguing, there's always "give me this," "that's mine," "no you took this, I took this." There's always going to be some of that rivalry no matter what. So to me, kind of normal, ordinary, to hear them arguing at home and then the next minute, thick as thieves, building something, or working on something, or doing homework, so it was so normal to me. Hearing John's take affected me... John, out of everything, when asked, "Do you have regrets?" John said, "No I don't, about doing the show, no." Somebody asked him, "Well, what about the show?" if you had to pick something what didn't you like? And John said, "Yeah there's one thing I didn't like. Looking back, watching it now, for a while I couldn't even watch certain episodes that was the fighting with my brothers." And he went on to explain why. "Today, if you see us, we're like three peas in a pod, and we're in business together, so we have to get along. We do get along. One has each place." And of course he said a lot more, but it was very, even for me as the mom, hearing that, I was really surprised by his answer.

MStars News: I know John is getting married. Is that any part of the special? Are you involved in the wedding, planning it?

Victoria: We talk about it. We talk about planning it. Right now it's a really big part of our lives, and it's a lot of work. It's mostly on the bride and groom of course, but it's a lot of work for them and a lot of going back and forth. They both work very intense jobs... Now, they're constantly running back and forth to photographers, florists, this one, that one, bands. It's trying, also with the good and the fun comes the difference of opinions, and the two of them, the bickering or one not seeing the other. It's a lot of work. It's a lot of work for all of us and I think it occupies our time, in a good way.

MStars News: Is there anything else you wanted to say about the Growing Up Gotti special, or what else we could expect?

Victoria: As I said, I think it's funny because we were talking about it again last night, and one of my boys said, "no one's really seen us for a long time, it's going to be very interesting, I think, people to see." And I looked at him and I said, "Well how do you feel?" We went back and forth; kind of round robin, around the table, and again it was interesting to hear their thoughts. You live in the same house, you live under the same roof with the same people, and you think you know them so well. When you hear them speak out about themselves or certain topics or subject matter, it's surprising. And I think just seeing again, I mean most of the girls were their fan base and all that stuff, but I don't think that's going to change, in fact I think that's going to heighten, seeing them now as young men. But I think people are going to be really surprised at how they turned out and what they're doing now. Even what they do in their professional life, I think people are going to be very, very surprised, and that's one of the reasons we did the show. But I think most of all I have to say; it's really, really funny.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the second part of our exclusive interview with Victoria Gotti, where we ask her about Celebrity Apprentice, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, her thoughts on the Gotti movie that was supposed to star John Travolta and Lindsay Lohan, and if she would join a Real Housewives show if asked.
