John Travolta Breaks Silence on 'Going Clear' Scientology Documentary

By Kyle Dowling | Apr 07, 2015 09:10 PM EDT

If you've seen HBO's Going Clear documentary about Scientology then you already know that a certain portion was dedicated to actor John Travolta, who has been in the religion for quite some time. The actor, who has faced gay rumors of being a closeted homosexual in the past, has always spoken brightly about the famed L. Ron Hubbard group, and after the release of Going Clear, people were clamoring for some sort of comment. And well, now they've got it. Travolta has officially broken his silence on the film. And despite all the negative experiences depicted in it, he claims that it's been "nothing but brilliant" to him. According to Gossip Cop, Travolta recently did an interview with the Tampa Bay Times and noted that "it wouldn't make sense" for him or Tom Cruise – another famous, if not the most famous scientologist out there – to join the critics of the film. Top 5 Takeaways from John Travolta Grabbing Idina Menzel's Face [VIDEO]

By Kyle Dowling | Feb 23, 2015 10:55 AM EST

So, did everyone see John Travolta and Idina Menzel make amends during last night's 87th Oscars? You know, because he totally butchered her name at last year's Academy Awards. Well, it appears the two decided to face the music straight on and make a joke of it during last night's ceremony. And while it was great that they were able to create some funny, it seems Menzel and the Oscar writers overlooked one thing ... John Travolta is kind of creepy. Calling out her "very dear friend, Glom Gazingo," Travolta took to the stage with a big smile, ready to rectify any misdoings he may have done the year before. And while he certainly did do that, making us forget all about his hilarious flub last year (kind of), he also succeeded in being really, really, really weird. Read More »

'AHS' Brother 'American Crime Story' John Travolta Cast Along Sarah Paulson, 'Friends' David Schwimmer, Cuba Gooding Jr.

By Mitch Thorpe, Mstars News writer | Jan 07, 2015 03:50 PM EST

"American Horror Story" better move over because there are some pretty big names coming to its somewhat of a spinoff series "American Crime Story." Now, the two technically don't have anything to do with one another, but since they are both created by Ryan Murphy, going to be on FX and have almost identical names, we're going to think of them as related. The new series from the "AHS" and "Glee" creator has already cast Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr. and "Friends" star David Schwimmer in some pretty big roles, but the newest casting decision might just be the biggest name yet. John Travolta has agreed to join the series. According to "E! News," the series, whose first season will center on the trial of O.J. Simpson and be called "American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson," has added Travolta to the cast as Simpson's defense attorney Robert Shapiro. According to Deadline, not only is the star set to play Shapiro on the show, but he will also serve as the producer on the 10-episode series. The site is reporting that Schwimmer will take on the role of Robert Kardashian, while Cuba Gooding and Sarah Paulson will play O.J. Simpson and prosecutor Marcia Clark. This is Travolta's first TV role since he started in "Welcome Back, Kotter" in the 1970s, and fans couldn't be more excited. Read More »
