Who Are The New Stars Community Is Adding For Season 6 On Yahoo- Replacing Donald Glover and Chevy Chase

Community may have lost a number integral cast members for their sixth season, but fans today can rejoice at Yahoo's announcement today that the sitcom has two new cast members.  

Facing a tough challenge in replacing long-time characters - while also moving from Sony/NBC to Yahoo! Screen for its sixth season - Yahoo and ew.com have reported that Season 6 of Community will now feature Paget Brewster and Keith David.  

Having lost Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley), Donald Glover (Troy), and Chevy Chase (Pierce) over the past twelve months, as well as the mooted departures of Jonathan Banks (Professor Hickey) and presumably John Oliver (Professor Duncan) due to their other TV commitments (Better Caul Saul and Last Week Tonight respectively), Community definitely needed a cast bolster. 

The pair will apparently join the Season 6 team in ongoing roles; Criminal Minds alum Brewster will play Francesca Dart, a consultant hired to help Greendale Community College, while veteran actor David (There's Something About Mary, Barbershop, Platoon) will, according to Yahoo, portray a retired scientist named Elroy Patashnik who enrols at Greendale. 

Both have long sitcom backgrounds, with Brewster appearing in Friends, Two and a Half Men and Modern Family and David fresh from military comedy Enlisted. Strangely, they have both appeared in the Community universe before too, with Brewster playing part of the IT team in last season's "Analysis of Cork-Based Networking" episode, and David narrating the excellent "Pillows & Blankets" civil-war episode in Season 3. 

And never fear, Human Beings, Yahoo say that the rest of the shows' Main cast members Joel McHale (Jeff), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Danny Pudi (Abed), Alison Brie (Annie), Jim Rash (Dean Pelton), and Ken Jeong (Chang)  "are all back for another semester at Greendale." 

The 13 new episodes of Community will air through Yahoo! Screen in earl 2015, and you can check out the teaser trailer below.
