In a society where beauty typically means being light-skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes, one must question: What happened to beauty being skin deep? In her directorial debut, LisaRaye McCoy, former cast member of VH1's Single Ladies, tackles the issue of discrimination and prejudice due to skin color within the black community head on in the film Skinned. Vibe Vixen reports, the controversial film journeys through the life of a woman named Jolie who has battled with issues of being dark-skinned since childhood. To combat her self-esteem issues she turns to skin bleaching, as she believes that being of a lighter skin complexion equates to beauty, but later in life her hasty decisions become her biggest regret. Earlier this year MStars News reported, Floyd Mayweather ditched his ex-fiancé, Shantel Jackson, for LisaRaye. LisaRaye showed up to support Mayweather while he trained for his big fight against Marcos Maidana, on May 3. According to MediaTakeout.com, Mayweather took back every diamond he showered his former fiancé with which totaled up to $7.8 million worth of jewels.
Floyd Mayweather's and Shantel's engagement break up had been confirmed by Jackson's laser treatment to remove a tattoo of boxing gloves on her wrists that was dedicated to her undefeated champion. Rumors of the couple's break up made headlines after rumors speculated that the Jackson had enough of Mayweather's cheating. MediaTakeOut obtained before-and-after photos of the model with her tattoo covered in bandages.
