It's the question that has plagued mankind for the best part of 22 years... just which baby actually had back? Did an anaconda actually meet their buns? Who was the someone who caused Sir Mix-a-Lot to be sprung? Well, according to TMZ, the inspiration for "Baby Got Back" was none other than Grammy winner, American Idol judge and all-round pre-Kim Kardashian booty queen Jennifer Lopez

The site reports that hat-lover and appreciator of all things bun Sir Mix-a-Lot - real name Anthony Ray - was so inspired after viewing J-Lo's, erm, assets during her turn as a fly girl for the much-loved sketch show, In Living Color, that he wrote the song that will forever be etched in mankind's collective memory as the tune most appropriate to appreciate the finer aspects of human anatomy to.

Does this also perhaps mean that we're finally reaching a point where any time there are butts featured prominently in the news - whether or not they #breaktheinternet - Sir Mix-a-Lot will become the world's spokesbuttman? As for what the songs anaconda and Becky thought of Kim's Paper photoshoot, though, we are yet to hear. Perhaps we should ask Wreckx-n-Effect

Kim's photoshoot has obviously dominated the news cycle this week, with TMZ also linking to uncensored NSFW outtake pics, with stories abounding about how Kadashian's husband Kanye West helped the Jean-Paul Goude shoot come about.

However, we can't forget that it was only a couple of months ago that Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" muse was reaffirming her title as Booty Queen, and dragging another contender for the crown, Iggy Azalea along with her. Judging from her appropriately-titled "Booty", she certainyl hasn't "lost that butt".

There you have it; one of the world's most endearing mysteries has been solved. J-Lo was the original baby who had back.
