Actress Brooke Shields is preparing for the release of her new memoir on Nov. 18 by sharing some juicy stories from her past. The 49-year-old star opens up about her mother, her lovers and her career in There Was A Little Girl, including the story about how Taken actor Liam Neeson proposed to her.

Before the official release of her book, Brooke is sharing exclusive tidbits from her memoir with People. One of the biggest stories includes the one-and-only Liam Neeson. According to the actress, in 1992 after breaking up with Dean Cain, the Schindler's List actor quickly wooed her.

"[He] wooed me with his brogue, his poetry and his s---ty choice of cheap pinot grigio wine," Brooke wrote in the exclusive excerpt via People. She continues to explain that after only three months of dating he asked her to marry him... but he didn't have a ring.

The publication revealed, "That year, they spent a tipsy Christmas together in New York. (Her mom, Teri Shields was also there.) Later that night, Neeson told Brooke he had to fly to Los Angeles to check on his house. She asked him to call her when he arrived but he said it would be 'late, darlin'.' He never called."

Despite the fact that the book talks about this incident, it doesn't reveal that Liam actually proposed again. "He came back after the first time he left me and asked me to marry him again," Brooke told People about the second proposal.

"This was before he started to do a play [Anna Christie]. And I said, 'No, no, no, because knowing you, you'll probably fall in love with your next leading lady and marry her, so I'm leaving myself out of this.' And I was dead right." Liam went on to marry the play's leading lady, Natasha Richardson in 1994.

Brooke also opens up about her alcoholic mother and her friendship with Michael Jackson, who she met when she was only 13-years-old. "Of course we loved each other, but nothing happened romantically," Brooke explained to the publication earlier this week.

"I would be like, 'Oh please, knock it off.' He was like this kid who would ask you [about dating and romance]. Nobody was telling him and nurturing this stuff and I think he was terrified. He was terrified and sort of juvenile. I think there was an arrested development."
