Mindy Kaling Teases An Upcoming Episode Of "The Mindy Project" While Filming In San Francisco [PHOTOS]

Mindy Kaling has revealed where the cast of The Mindy Project will be taking a trip to later this season and it's to California! Today, the creator and Mindy Project actress teased the upcoming episode (while she is currently filming it in San Francisco).

"No one knows about this yet. We just pitched it to the network that we're going to be going somewhere after Christmas, and there's a really great roster of people that she meets there," Mindy exclusively told E! Online earlier this month. "I like those episodes of like Lost where the character goes to a new place, or like The Walking Dead, where we meet like six new weirdoes. And you kind of fall in love with them."

When the publication pushed for more details, Mindy wouldn't reveal the location but she did talk about it being filmed at the actual destination. "We're shooting most of it here, but hoping to travel to another location to shoot some key things because the place that Mindy's going to is very iconic in its own way," the 35-year-old actress explained.

Today, Mindy revealed the top-secret location and started to share pictures of the cast all over San Francisco. "In January we are taking over the west coast," Mindy wrote on Twitter with a picture of her and Chris Messina (who plays Danny Castellano on the series) in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. "Coming soon to #TheMindyProject, Danny Castellano in San Francisco," she added.

In addition to hanging out in the Bay Area, the cast and crew of The Mindy Project took a trip to the Redwoods, where the adorable onscreen couple posed with the trees. Mindy also made sure to stop by Haight Asbury and pose in front of Janis Joplin's house. "Janis Joplin lived here! #haight #themindyproject" she wrote alongside a photo of her standing in front of a bright yellow house.

Chris and Mindy also filmed on a merry go round and the famous Lombard Street. "Medium fast times at Merry Go Round High #themindyproject #sanfrancisco," Mindy rode on a painted horse. After riding a cable car, the crew went to City Lights bookstore and relaxed in the poetry room.

We can't wait to see what Danny and Mindy do in the city by the bay when the episode airs in January. For now we will have to focus on tonight's all-new episode of The Mindy Project!
