'Once Upon A Time' Casts Merrin Dungey As Ursula, Plus We Reveal Spoilers For The Fall Finale

Once Upon a Time has added another great actress to its cast this season. ABC has officially cast Merrin Dungey as the villain Ursula. Plus, we've got a few killer spoilers from the upcoming fall finale episode of the storybook series.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned that Alias and King of Queens alum; Merrin had been cast as the recurring role of The Little Mermaid's iconic villain Ursula on Wednesday.

Yvette Nicole Brown (from Community) previously voiced Ursula in one episode during a season three episode. Merrin is the latest villain to be cast in the fairytale series. Dracula alum Victoria Smurfit was previously cast as the 101 Dalmatian villain Cruella de Vil. Cruella de Vil will make her first appearance in Once's winter finale according to Entertainment Weekly.

"In the Enchanted Forest, things get classically evil as we face off against an embarrassment of witches," creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis exclusively told TV Line about the new villains coming to town in the fall finale.

With the Frozen storyline coming to an end towards at the end of the first half of season four, another villain will return to Once Upon a Time and she's evil to the core. In August Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned that True Blood alum Kristin Bauer van Staten would be heading back to Storybrooke this season as Maleficent.

"The last we saw of Maleficent, she was locked away in a cave under the clock tower, stuck in dragon form until she was slain by Emma in the season 1 finale. She then came back in nightmarish zombie form at the end of season 2," EW reported.

It is still unclear why Maleficent is returning to the series, but we can't wait to find out what trouble she will be bringing with her. In preparation for the midseason finale on Dec. 14 the show's creators are teasing another serious cliffhanger.

"Two of the show's most beloved relationships will be tested and changed forever as Storybrooke says goodbye to some of their own," Adam and Eddy teased in an interview with TV Line. Fingers crossed it's not Emma and Hook!

Once Upon a Time airs on Sundays on ABC and will return from its winter hiatus on March 1.
