Fox Announces The 'Glee' Final Season Premiere Date And TBS Cancels 'Sullivan & Son'

TV news is in high supply this week. Fox has officially announced when the sixth and final season of Glee will be premiering while TBS canceled its comedy Sullivan & Son.

Fox announced on Thursday that Glee's final season would premiere on Friday, Jan. 9. The two-hour season premiere will mark the musical comedy's big move to Fridays, according to TV Guide. The network also announced that the series would come to an end with another two-hour episode on Friday, March 20, so mark your calendars Gleeks!

In addition to Glee's season six premiere date, Fox released the rest of its winter and spring series premiere dates. The thriller series The Following will have its season three premiere (which will be two hours) on March 2. Fox's new series Backstrom starring Rainn Wilson (from the Office) will also premiere in March on the 26^th. Bones will return from its midseason break on March 26 before the new series as well.

More new series premieres include The Last Man on Earth, which starts on March 1 and Weird Loners, which will air on March 31. In January Masterchef Junior will return for its third season. The World's Funniest Falls will also premiere on Jan. 16, according to the publication. The hit reality singing show, American Idol will begin again on Jan. 22.

In unfortunate TV news TBS has canceled Sullivan & Son as its latest cut in a long line of series that have gotten the axe this year. According to Deadline, TBS canceled the comedy after three seasons, but it isn't the first show to be canceled by the network this season. The same company owns TNT and TBS and they have been cleaning house this month.

TNT's Dallas, Franklin & Bash and Perception have all already been cut this month. Sullivan & Son was one of the first TBS' original comedies alongside Men At Work in 2012, which was already canceled in May. The publication revealed that with all the cancelations, TBS only has Ground Floor in the comedy category returning next season.
